Strengthening maritime cooperation between Algeria and Italy: the ships “El Moulah” and “El Somam” arrive at the port of Taranto as part of a friendship and cooperation visit

On Monday, July 28, 2025, Mr. Chaouki CHEMMAM, Consul General of Algeria in Naples, participated in the reception ceremony for the two Algerian ships “El Malah” and “El Somam,” which docked at the port of Taranto in the Republic of Italy as part of a friendship and cooperation visit. The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Mr. Mohamed KHELIFI, Algerian Ambassador to Italy, accompanied by the Defense Attaché at the Embassy, as well as a number of representatives of the Italian military authorities.
During the reception held on board the training sailing ship “Al-Malah,” the pride of the Algerian Navy, His Excellency the Ambassador spoke about the depth and strength of the bilateral strategic relations between Algeria and Italy, praising the continuous development of these relations, particularly in the field of military and defense cooperation. He also noted the importance of this naval visit in promoting mutual understanding and the exchange of experiences between the navies of the two countries.
