Organisation of a ceremony to commemorate the 63rd anniversary of Independence and Youth Day for members of the Algerian community belonging to the consular district and residing in southern Italy (Naples, Saturday 19 July 2025)

On the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the restoration of national sovereignty and Youth Day, the Consulate General of Algeria in Naples organised a ceremony on Saturday 19 July 2025 at the headquarters of the “Canottieri Napoli” club, attended by Dr Franca FICO, Deputy Mayor of the City of Naples, together with Mr Khaled Al-Faqih, Consul of the Tunisian Republic in Naples, and a large group of members of the Algerian community residing in southern Italy, who welcomed this initiative. The programme included:

• the performance of the Algerian and Italian national anthems.

• A recorded speech by Soufiane Chaib, Secretary of State in charge of the National Community Abroad, addressed to members of the Algerian community residing in southern Italy.

The speech by the Consul General, Mr Chaouki CHEMMAM, who addressed the symbolic importance of national independence and the depth of Algerian-Italian relations, as well as the announcement of the launch of the Consulate's website to facilitate communication with the community.

• The presentation of Algerian and Italian dishes and cultural moments, including a traditional musical performance.

• A raffle with symbolic prizes was organised to encourage the community to maintain contact with their homeland and strengthen family and national ties.

The event was characterised by great interaction among community members, embodying the spirit of belonging and loyalty to the homeland and renewing the bond with victorious Algeria.
